- Hongasandra station on the Yellow Line is a short walk from Vaikuntum Elite Co-Living — the whole corridor is a metro ride, not a Silk Board jam.
- Electronic City is 5 stops (~15 min); BTM Layout 3 stops; Kudlu Gate 1 stop.
- HSR Layout (~3 km), Madiwala (~3 km) and Koramangala (~6 km) are short rides by road.
- Bommanahalli rents are lower than HSR or Koramangala for the same commute.
The south-east corridor, explained
Most of Bengaluru's tech jobs south of the ORR line up along one axis: Koramangala and the start-up belt in HSR at the top, BTM and Madiwala in the middle, Bommanahalli and Kudlu Gate on Hosur Road, and Electronic City at the bottom. For years the only question was how long you were willing to sit at Silk Board. The Yellow Line changed the question.
What the Yellow Line does for you
The line runs from RV Road down Hosur Road to Bommasandra. From Hongasandra station — a short walk from ARR Almas Tower — the stops that matter are:
| Destination | By metro | By road |
|---|---|---|
| Kudlu Gate | 1 stop | ~2 km |
| Electronic City (Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL, Biocon) | 5 stops · ~15 min | ~8 km |
| BTM Layout | 3 stops | ~3.5 km |
| Silk Board / Madiwala | 2 stops | ~3 km |
| HSR Layout | Silk Board + short ride | ~3 km |
| Koramangala | — | ~6 km, 20 min |
Area by area
HSR Layout — cafés, co-working spaces and the Sector 1–7 start-up offices. Lovely to live in, expensive to rent in; a short ride up Hosur Road from Bommanahalli gets you there without HSR rents.
Koramangala — Forum Mall, 80 Ft Road, the older start-up belt and the best food in the city. 1BHKs run ₹14,000–30,000 with 8–10 month deposits. Twenty minutes by road from Bommanahalli, or metro to Silk Board and an auto.
BTM Layout — 1st and 2nd Stage offices, the food street, and a metro station of its own. Three stops from Hongasandra.
Madiwala — Total Mall, St. John's and the market side of Hosur Road, about 3 km up the road.
Kudlu Gate — the next station south: offices on Hosur Road and the IT belt beyond it. One stop, or a quick ride.
Electronic City — Phase 1's campuses are five stops down the line, which is the whole argument for living on the metro rather than inside Electronic City's traffic.
Bommanahalli itself — Gold Hill Square, supermarkets and eateries on Hosur Road, The Oxford College of Engineering, and Hongasandra Metro. Not the fanciest address, which is exactly why the maths works.
Where that leaves you
If your office is anywhere on this corridor, a base at Hongasandra gives you a metro commute in both directions and Koramangala on the weekend. Vaikuntum Elite Co-Living sits on floors 4–6 of ARR Almas Tower, a short walk from the station, with rooms from ₹7,000 to ₹27,000 a month, everything included.
